Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Wow! I am extremely put off by TGIF's and will not be returning. It was an awful experience and I was so disappointed with the service and food. First of all the pretzel bread was hard and burnt, secondly the wings that I ordered as part of my trio were cold but it doesn't stop there ..Once they brought the food out (my main entree) they only then let me know they were out of Mac and cheese (one of my sides) so I had to order a different side.. Fries.. Simple enough right? It didn't even get to the table until I was ready to pay my check! To top it all off.. The manager never even came to our table to say a word about the experience or acknowledge what was going on! The manager has no idea what's going on, the food is awful, dull, cold and not worth the headache! Won't be going back!

I have been to TGI Fridays many times now, I'm just not a fan. The food tastes very generic, despite all the hype about specialty flavors. Definitely high priced for what you get. I've seen waiters and waitresses treat some people really nice, but when I'm there alone, I am mostly ignored.

  • Leah R.

Horrible service!! Couldn't even get seated, walked out, manager begged us to come back and said he'd pay for the meal. Paid for ONE of our meals. Couldn't get the waitress over if our lives depended on it.

Well, if you're looking for a cookie-cutter TGI Friday's to go to, this is one. Big TVs all over the place, nice bar. Nothing crappy but nothing that stands out. Servers are always nice and the food is usually not too bad, but man the beer deals are total crap. When you have a Buy-One-Get-One Free beer deal, I want to see a friggin BOGO DAS BOOT sized beer....no, seriously, I think the beers are like 8 ounces...pretty lame. Like I said, if you're looking for a TGI Fridays, this is a TGI Fridays. I'm not one for the huge chain type places with the tacky crap on the walls that try to make it feel like a local place, but you don't have much choice when you're dragged here. I'd rather support a local business.

Not sure why all the terrible reviews. I mean, this place is nothing to brag about, but the food is always great, and the servers are always wonderful. And you often can't beat the price with their two-for-$12 deals.

Honestly, I don't even know where to start. The entire experience was more then enough to make sure that I never step within 500 feet of the establishment. For starters, our server Mark rushed my husband and I the entire time we were there, which, gave us the impression that we really weren't welcome in the restaurant (which is fine, since we won't be going back). He wasn't knowledgeable about the menu and really didn't seem to care. We encountered multiple issues during our dining experience in which were brought to the attention of Mark. My husband and I both ordered the half rack of Jack Daniels ribs special which included an appetizer for $10. Because of already utilizing one of the specials, I was not allowed to use my GMMS coupon for a free dessert. About ten minutes after placing our order, our appetizers arrived (spinach flatbread and fried mozzarella) - both were great. A few minutes later, we were brought a basket of greasy tortilla strips with salsa. Another ten minutes later, our entrees arrived. We both ordered loaded mashed potatoes; here's the issue - the bowls that the mashed potatoes were in were so hot that I could not even pick mine up, which reminded me that maybe they were placed in the microwave to melt the cheese prior to being served; in doing so, the flavor profile was completely changed because of it. Our ribs on the other hand were ice cold and bland. We both sent ours back and a minute or so later, they arrived back to the table. Mark said, "they've been put on the grill to warm them up".. Okay, then where were the so-called "grill marks" if they've been put on the grill? There weren't any - hmm.. another product of chef "Mike" (i.e. Microwave?). My hubs also ordered the tomato mozzarella salad as his second side item, which consisted of halved cherry tomatoes, purple onions, and chopped basil (notice I said nothing about mozzarella?). Overall, this was my second experience at this Friday's location and honestly, this was my last too. The most surprising part, during all of the issues that we encountered, not once did a manager stop by our table to find out what was going on. This Friday's has left a lasting impression - horrible service and crappy food.

The review does not reflect the waitress she was fine, however the hostess acted like she cared less we were there and after seating us seated a family with two screaming children in the booth immediately next to us while the restaurant was practically empty. Thanks for THAT. My real complaint was that we ordered their special burgers but my wife asked to not have mushrooms on hers. The waitress said she wasn't sure they could serve them that way and went to ask and I told her if they couldn't to send the cook out so I could inquire why. She came back saying that they couldn't sere the burger that way and the cook wouldn't come out to explain to me why. We got up and left. I called the manager from another restaurant just down the street and he said when he heard that we left that he tried to catch us to say we could have our burgers how we wanted. Now I'm handicapped and don't walk fast plus I went back to the table to leave a small tip for the waitress and never saw any manager looking for me. This was Veterans Day and as a disabled vet. I just wanted a quiet burger but TGIF Fridays just turned the night sour for us. In a city with loads of restaurants I now know why there was only 8 cars there. Won't ever return!

One of my aunts came down from NY to FL to see me, mom, grandma and co. for the weekend. When she arrived, we were all starving and she said she'd take us out to TGI Fridays for lunch, her treat. I will say service is phenomenal! I didn't have any service issues as many of the reviews stated. The manager opened the door for us, accustomed a booth to our party's desires and we were seated promptly without waiting. He also checked on us as much as our host. Our host, (Gary/Greg?) immediately came to our table, gave us our menu and asked what we wanted to drink. In less than 10 minutes our drinks were out. He also noted that we should start with an appetizer and recommended we should try the fried green beans. He would also top all our drinks off at half glass! We never ran out! He always checked on us too. I felt very welcomed and a quality customer stepping in. First off, will say that the fried green beans ARE delicious!! Perfect crunch with a light salt taste and a spicy ranch sauce. Very yummy; and their Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie is to DIE FOR! So silky smooth, lots of flavor and LOTS of chocolate. ONLY real complaint? Their turkey burger is not a recommendation. It was bland and also at bites had a strong shrimp taste. The fries were seafood like too. I think they forgot to clean the grill. Overall, this joint gets 4 stars and I would definitely go back and try something else.

Stay away from this establishment. My wife and I placed a drink order, and got our asses chewed by an unknown server, and the Front-of-the-House-Manager. Apparently a blackberry (made with raspberry Chambord?) Long Island Ice Tea is not a BO-GO deal. The customer is ALWAYS right, and it is not our fault we were unaware of THEIR billing system. We just wanted a damn drink or 2. How rude.

Came here on a Monday night. Football was going on so I walk in with hubs and everyone is at the bar. There are 18 tv's in the area!!! I love how they line the walls so no matter where you are sitting, you can watch what is going on. Once we sat down, we were greeted by Rae, the bartender. This lady definitely can do it all and that should be her nickname. She took our drink order and food order. We went with the endless appetizers for 10 dollars each. She was very personable and interactive. She was giving customers high-fives and getting them excited about the games that were going on. The food came out and it was nice and hot. Once she seen us getting half way, she put more in for us and we barely had to wait in anything. The food was the typical TGI food but the service is what sold it. It was a big bar and to see her work the entire thing was just amazing. I think I seen a manager walking at round straightening chairs. All I have to say about him is that he could have spoke and asked how people were. Customers appreciate the small gestures. If you ever come here and Rae is working, you are in for a real treat and she will take good care of you. Thanks Rae!

The food was Great but the experience I had overcame the food. When I got there, I asked the host if I could sit on the patio (no one was out there so I wasn't sure if it was open) and she said I could and that someone would be out there to greet me. I found my spot and waited....and waited....and waited....about 20 minutes later someone came out to wipe down tables and as I expected them to greet me and maybe take my drink order, she just smiled at me and went back inside. So I waited some more...about 10 minutes later a manager came out and greeted me as she was fixing some tables and such. Then she asked if I'd been helped and when I said no...she went and grabbed someone very quickly which was very nice of her but if I hadn't been there for a nightcap (after work) with my coworker, I would have just got up and left. I didn't appreciate being ignored for so long especially since I initially told the host I was out there.

Well pretty bad! Not sure where to begin, but the front door! Host was terrible, acted as if we were an interruption to her day. Sat us at a corner booth, that was sticky and in need of a thorough cleaning of not only the table, but the seats and the floor. Everything was sticky, I was coming our of my shoes! After a wait of about 15 minutes, I was about to get our party to leave, when a server finally showed up. No apologies, no welcome just "What you drinking?" We ordered drinks, and they took forever to get back to the table. Then the server disappeared for another long period while we stared at the menus, and finished our drinks. Finally she returned to take our orders, but another 30 or so minutes passed before we got refills. Finally the food came, and it was terrible. The steaks were not cooked as ordered, brown and dry in the middle with no seasoning and appeared to have been frozen to the point they had freezer burn. Again, no follow-up from the server, and drinks went low again with no refills. Finally we got her attention, paid the check reluctantly, and left very disappointed. Customer service got buried under the rug somewhere in this place! Never returning here!!!

This is the best TGI Friday's that I eat at! ...and as a business traveler I eat at a lot of them. This particular TGIF is within walking distance of our home so we visit this location quite often, I would say about 2-4 times a month on average. Unlike the previous reviews, my wife and I have not experienced terrible service here. In fact I would say it has been the complete opposite on all but a few occasions. Yes occasionally a short staffed night can take awhile, but we have never waited more than 20 minutes for our food. Anyway, I regress. This location is quite new and is always very clean (4 out of 5). Our service is usually very good, but there are those times we have felt they could use one more server (3 out of 5). Like all TGIF's the Stripes program is great, and the management often gives us more than our Stripes Rewards (5 out of 5). The Dragonfire Salmon is my usual at TGIF and they have never messed it up here (5 out of 5). The 2 for 1 drink specials are usually made well and they are often made strong (5 out of 5)! In summary, this is a TGI Friday's...this is not Vince Carter's! I think this one is the best one I eat at, and I will admit that there have been far worse TGIF's. Like the one in Roanoke (don't bother!), or the one in Melbourne (only if you have to). The Port Orange location is a gem, and the servers make it so for us at least. Maybe we are just nice and the staff likes us, maybe our cute baby is too irresistible for the servers, or maybe (and I suspect this is the real reason) the previous reviews are from bitter former employees? Try it out and you decide. Jamie

Well, this Friday's is typical. Nothing to "write home about". It's not this particular location's fault that the food is so mediocre. It's just the way it is at TGIFriday's. But the fact that the service was spotty! Well that can't be blamed on the corporate franchise! We were seated for quite a while before a server came and greeted our party of five. Finally, someone came to get our drink order. One ordered lemonade and was told that they were all out of lemonade. The other ordered a strawberry lemonade slushy and was told that none of the several types of slushes were available since they all contained lemonade. Really! We received our appetizer with no silverware or individual plates. We had to ask specifically for these items. The appetizer of fried green beans came with a small container of sauce, which was not enough for the party of 5. The server knowingly volunteered to bring us an extra sauce, but she never did. I was also surprised that the server never asked whether there would be separate checks. Now I know what to expect at Friday's. Mediocre food and spotty service.

We were looking forward to a nice visit last night. We arrived at a very busy time on a Friday night. That should have been the manager's first clue to step it up. Seated 15 minutes later. Not bad. Had to ask for the table to be rewiped down because our shirt sleeves kept getting wet. 2 for 1 margaritas.? Woo hoo! Worst try at a margarita..... EVER. Barely drank one. Such a waste. The harried waitress took our appetizer order of the pretzels. 10 minutes later another server searched the room, table to table, trying to find who ordered the pretzel sticks that she plunked down on each table. Ewwww. They were ours. A bit greasy, but good. When our waitress reappeared, we asked for our water, straws, napkins and silverware. When she brought them, she apologized and said she didn't bring the silverware because they were out because they were so busy. Busy? Really? On a Friday night, in January, in Florida. How unusual. Entrées ordered after tackling the waitress as she sprinted by us the 3rd time. Simple order. Classic burger for me. My vegetarian friend ordered the Sonoma black bean burger. 10 minutes later 2 classic burgers arrived with way overly salted french fries. 3 tries later, we tackled the waitress to explain the burger mistake and the overly saltedfries. She apologizes and off she scurries. I finish my burger and we wait. And we wait. And we wait. My friend eats her overly salted cold fries (the whole platewas left on the table). We tackle the waitress a half hour later and tell her to forget it. She apologizes and says she can't make them cook faster. Really? Never saw the manager. We live close by. First and last visit there was last night. We had dessert elsewhere.

If there was a lower star then 1 this would be the place I woul give it to! It.wwas the worst service I have ever gotten!!!! I entered and was sat by 530 but was not served the drinks or even my app until 730 this was inconsevable to me not only was the service crap but the manager greg is a joke not only was he the rudest man I have ever met, and I work in customer service so that does say a lot, but he got into an argument with another manager while at our table ...... This is 2nd time this has happened.... The 1st time was just as bad I will never got back and if u choose to ignor this make sure you only go on mon or tue when the manager jason and waitress abby is on they are the only reason I would ever return ...... Which is unlikly

I gave then two more chances and is just getting worse. I came with two fridns and have some mojitos and one of my friend was hungry and order a salad and after a few bites he found a fly on his plate, then the manager came and gave us almost all our drinks for free but we did not ask for that, we can afford it, we dont care about the money part. Now Tonight I went with 10 coworkers and our order it was very easy, we ordering all coronas at the same time we order some appetizers and everything was ok but then we order the food they bring all of my friends food but she forgot mine, of course the manager never came back to apologize because he knew it was my third time that I had a problem so all my friends got dinner and I did not get not even one apologize at all. I just will never come back and anyway my girl do not came back since the first bad experience. I neve asked for discount ever, nothing free, no vip service, I was just expecting just good service. Waited 10 minutes at table until another server noticed us and said "Hi". I had crusted flounder. It was mediocre. The rice was about the same consistency of any 10 minute Chinese delivery restaurant. Our server continued to be more interested with invisibility than any real level of attentiveness. Basically, exactly what I expected out of Fridays.

He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
